Proprietor’s Blend

Tournesol Vineyard . Coombsville AVA . Napa Valley

Tournesol Proprietor’s Blend is composed of the five Bordeaux varieties originally planted by the Arns in 1999: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Since its first vintage in 2004, our flagship Bordeaux-style blend varies by vintage based on the vineyard, growing season, harvest, fermentation, and barrel aging. The Proprietor’s Blend is the perfect expression of our vineyard and unique terroir, and is known for its vibrant aromatics, intense color and concentration, complexity, and balance. Enjoy upon release or age 12-15 years.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Tournesol Vineyard . Coombsville AVA . Napa Valley

Tournesol Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is made with grapes from a hand-selected lot from a single block in our stream vineyard which yields outstanding fruit. Our Cabernet Sauvignon vines are the venerable Clone 4, which first arrived in California in 1964 from Mendoza, Argentina. Clone 4 has earned its reputation in many of the most famous wines from Napa Valley. The rocky, volcanic soils of the Tournesol Vineyard produce clusters with small berries and uncommon intensity. This wine is aged entirely in French Oak, seasoned for three years before the barrel is produced and split into a thin 22mm stave thickness, to allow the required evolution before bottling just shy of two years later. The finished wine is deep, rich, and full bodied with structure and elegance, beautiful upon release or after 10-20 years in bottle.

Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon

Sonoma Mountain AVA . Sonoma County

Tournesol Sauvignon Blanc-Sémillon was first produced in 2011 as an homage to the white wines of the Bordeaux region. Comprised predominantly of zesty Sauvignon Blanc, the addition of Sémillon produces a wine that is fresh and bright with an opulent, full-bodied palate. Citrus, gooseberry, and passionfruit qualities are balanced by nuances of honey, floral aromatics, and minerality resulting in an elegant and complex wine. We source Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the highly acclaimed Farina Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. East facing, sunswept, and breezy with well-draining rocky soils, slope, and elevation, make this site superb for the Clone 1 and Musque it yields. The Sémillon is grown in a small block of 19 rows at the Tournesol Stream Vineyard.

Rosé of Grenache

Dry Creek Valley AVA . Sonoma County

Tournesol Rosé is made from 100% single-vineyard sourced Grenache. It is cultivated and harvested specifically for our Rosé, picked at lower brix and vinified using a whole cluster, direct press style. This yields a rosé of unmatched elegance and grace with aroma and subtle complexity. The Provisor Vineyard is a storybook organically farmed 3acre estate just outside the town of Healdsburg in the famed Lytton Springs District in Sonoma County. The Tablas Creek Clone D Grenache on 110 R rootstock is planted in north-south rows that run down a gently sloping hillside. The Grenache is wellsuited to the prized red gravely clay loam soils and the classic warm days and cool nights of Dry Creek, which result in bright, fresh fruit that achieves ripeness while preserving acid and tannin for a spectacular and sophisticated rosé.
